Feather
He hates it when you smile. It makes him feel light as a feather even when he is supposed to be furious.
Pout
You hate it when he pouts. It makes you want to smile even when you guys aren’t supposed to be talking.
Tomorrow
“You know you can just stay here and wait out the rain until tomorrow, right?”
“Yea, I know that.”
“So why don't you?”
“I don't want to jump your bones yet.”

Unknown
Sometimes, it really sucks to be in love with someone. You think about them day and night. Sometimes you even lose your appetite over them. What makes it worst is: you don't even know his name.
Fairytale
“And so, the king and his queen lived happily ever after,” Sora finished with a satisfied smirk on his face.
You stared at the five-year-old in suspicion, asking in your squeaky voice, “Are you sure that's how the story ended? And why am I playing the part of the queen again? Why do you get to play the king and battle the dragon?”
Nodding proudly as if entirely confident of his reading abilities, Sora even shouted: “Why would you ask that? Look, I'm a king because I have a crown and so I get to save you from the dragon.”
Glaring at the crown, you grumbled, “Well, my mommy says that you have to hold the book upright when you read.”

Bluff
“What are you gonna do about it?” you challenged with a widening smirk.
Sora pouted, as if trying to think of a good comeback. Finally when he did, he spoke proudly: “Well, I'll kiss you, that's what I'm gonna do about it.”
“Oh yea? Then come here and put your mouth where your money is.”
Little did you know how gullible you were to believe Riku when he said Sora wouldn’t do anything..

Cereus
“[your name], hurry up!!!” Sora's voice whined from downstairs, “We're gonna miss it!”
You grabbed your camera quickly, not even bothering to put the lens on until you were out the door and into the chilly mist of the spring night. Upon closing in on the garden, you wondered how tall it would be this year, how long it'd last.
“Sora! It's here!” you exclaimed, dashing towards the blooming cereus.
The white petals glowed brightly even in your black and white polaroids and you could still distinguish the brilliance of the golden dust painted upon its white purity. Sighing, you whispered: “So pretty...”
“Yea...” Sora smiled, eyes completely focused on you.

Neighbors
The picket fence was a barrier between two different worlds. When you had moved in, Sora dug a hole under the fence in order to hook the line through so you can tele-can him every night. When you started kindergarten, he'd climb over the fence because the hole he dug was no longer big enough for him. When you started fifth grade, you two had your first fight by the fence because you didn't eat lunch with him.
If you could turn back time, you'd pick him over those girls any day.
When you started middle school, he no longer talked to you. When you started high school, you watched him sneak a girl inside his house in the middle of the night, only to see her leaving five minutes later.
Before you left for college, his voice came through the tele-can for the first time in eighteen years. Before you left for your wedding, you found the words: “I love you” carved into the fence from fifth grade.

Sora-phobia
Oh how he scared you, you thought with a rueful smile on your face. You jumped three feet in the air at the thought of him being behind you. No doubt you broke the world record when he really was behind you.
To keep it short and sweet, you hated being around him.
You also hated the way he made you feel: all warm and squishy inside. If you were around him for more than five minutes, you'd probably faint. If you were around him for more than ten minutes, heck, you'd probably melt. One could only imagine what wonders will happen to your heart when he would kiss you.
Oh wait, your heart exploded.

Mints
You backed away further, an expression of pure fear on your face. Sora's gruesome smile hid his handsome face in the ugliness as he closed the distance. Your head stiffened when he placed his palm behind the back of it.
Oh no...
You wanted to protest in surprise, but instead his lips landed on yours and instantly you wanted to throw up when the taste of mint entered your mouth. “YUCK! Sora, that was disgusting! I hate mint!”
He laughed, “See? That wasn't so bad! How about some more?”
Your face filtered with pink as you managed to whisper, “One more...”

Disguises
“No...” he wanted to say for the first time in his life, feeling his cheerful facade slip away.
He had never wanted anything more than to pull you away from Roxas's arms and into his own.

Distance
He was always staring over there, his hand cupping his chin while his head turned sideways. He didn't really want to listen to the teacher rant about something he already learned or didn't care about. The room full of boys slept during class anyways.
But he, Sora, never really slept. The neighboring building full of girls had one girl that keeps his attention, his girl. You would smile at him every now and then when your teacher turned her back. It was unfortunate that the two genders were separated by buildings, but then again, not like that's going to stop either of you after school.

Red-handed
“How could you, [your name]?”
You didn't know who was saying it. Your head hurt too much for you to even think, but it sounded like Sora's voice. Slowly fumbling around you, your hand eventually came into contact with something. Someone. You eyes snapped open to find your hands on his shirt, in the midst of ripping it open.
His eyes stared innocently at you, somewhat frightened. You backed away slowly, staring in horror at how your hand was lined with the red threads from the shirt. The legend of the Paopu fruit was true!

Game
“Truth or dare?”
You should have picked dare. Then again, Riku had the weirdest dares. You've learned your lesson when he made you share your ice cream with his hermit crab, as if he wanted you to do the dirty work for him or something. Nevertheless, despite his assurances that hermit crabs love to eat strawberry ice cream, it died a week later. Faced with the challenge once more, you weren't able to be his partner in crime again.
“Truth.”
“Really, now?” a smirk grew on his face that caused you to immediately change your answer. You paled as his eyes drifted to Sora, who was obliviously eating his box of ice cream. His smirk grew as he whispered the words in your ears. You wanted to faint at what he said, but instead, all you could do is blush and feel the heat rise to your cheeks.
“Sora... you got a minute?” you mumbled, eyes shifting back and forth from him to the coat closet.

Unconditional
When the light hit your eyes, you habitually rolled to your side, sighing onto the empty pillow beside you. The smell of his fresh paopu fruit shampoo that lingered long after his shower permeated your room, cracking a smile on your face. His dress shoes were gone, leaving only the house slippers that sat snugly next to yours at the front door.
When you got to the kitchen, Sora was gone again, having taken the liberty to make breakfast for you just as he would everyday before going to work. The newspaper he got in this morning was sitting next to your plate where the steam from the toast and eggs were still driving your senses crazy.
You smiled, taking a seat down at the table. A single tear rolled down your cheek.
It was the last night he'd come, he had told you. He had to go back to his family.

Boogeyman
“HOLY CRAP!” Sora shouted, bolting out of his seat and scaring the hell out of everyone in the room.
Riku peered at him from his half-lidded eyes before going back to sleep. It was just Sora being Sora, like always. You walked in, holding the tray of chocolate goodness waiting to be consumed by our hero. The brownie quickly bolted to you, pulling you with him out of the room without missing a beat when glaring at Riku.
“What was that about?” Tidus asked as you guys finally left the room.
“Who knows?” the silver-haired shrugged.

Dreams
A white castle surrounded by flowers,
A kingdom immersed in peace,
An empire made of love.
A king in a golden throne
Overlooking his land,
Overlooking his kingdom.
He fell in love with a maiden,
Fair and desired.
If only, if only, if only
The maiden was the one
Looking in from outside
This beautiful dream.

Mornings
You didn't want to open your eyes.
It was just another morning anyways. The sun always came up and eventually, it will always go down. It wasn’t as though morning will never come again if you didn’t open your eyes. You shifted yourself against the bundle of warmth next to you. Bare skin made you smile behind your closed eyes. Absentmindedly, your cold hands would rub against the warm skin.
Soft. Like a feather, you thought.
You shifted your head this time until it came across that familiar sound of thumps. The surface below you rose and fell rhythmically and evenly as soft warm whiffs of air blow down your forehead with every breath.
Thump, thump. Like a drum, you thought.
Warm lips touched the top of your head as an arm looped around your waist. It was heaven, you admitted, trying to forget how hard you were denying it barely a week ago. You didn't want to open your eyes. It would mean you'd have to wake up to another day of work and meaningless stress. But this, you felt, this was bliss.
Mine, mine, mine. It wasn’t so bad, you thought.
You could get used to mornings like these.

Broken
He watched in misery at the way you wandered around mindlessly. If fate wasn’t against him, you wouldn’t be like that. You wouldn’t cry to Riku every night, and you wouldn’t look at your phone every other second to check if Roxas called. If fate wasn’t against him, you would be happy.
He wanted to go up to you and kiss you senselessly until you kissed him back. That way, you’d only think of him and forget about Roxas. Unfortunately--
“Sora,” Kairi poked him, holding up the blue vase, “What do you think of these? We can put them in our bedroom.”
Unfortunately, fate had always hated his guts.

Scarlet
“Seriously, [your name], when are you going to stop drinking?” the silver-haired male frowned, sneering at the bottle of wine in your hand. He was truly worried, but he couldn’t take it away from you, knowing that it was the only thing keeping you distracted from all this pain. “You’re only killing yourself.”
A humorless smile danced on your lips as you whispered, looking up towards the bright blue sky: “Exactly.”

If
The danger wasn’t over yet, the doctor told you. He’d have to last through tonight. You wanted to get out of the room, away from the sight of Sora’s battered body, but you couldn’t. Knowing that he might, if ever, wake up any second to find you… not there.
You leaned against the wall, making yourself comfortable and in line of sight if he would ever open his eyes again, and dreamed.
In your dream, he was gone. Despite that he has talked with you before about how you should only think of happiness the moment he leaves you, you couldn’t do it. You would dream about him every night and think of him every day.
Roxas’s concern for you—as his brother’s girlfriend—would soon break you from your misery, and you would marry him. Your children would look like mini-versions of you… and Sora.
On your deathbed, you would ask your dear husband the heart-breaking words: “Will I get to see him again?”

Jealousy
Sometimes he wished you’d look at him. He wanted you to see how madly in love he was with you.
Eternity
“Please don't leave me...” he sobbed. It was unlike Sora to cry, much less beg, but when it was you, he would do anything.
“Sora...” you whispered, “Don't cry.”
The wound in your stomach was hurting once again, so you stopped talking. It had taken a long time to get rid of all the blood that had earlier stained your skin and you didn't want it to ruin your dress. What a vain thought. Here you were, rocking up and down on your raft, nearing your moment of death, and you were thinking about your dress.
The brown-haired teenager laid his head on your chest, trying hard to listen for the heartbeat.
“Let go, Sora,” you told him, burying your fingers into his hair.
He waited a while before he obeyed, cutting loose the final connection between you and him—the rope. As you drifted away, he closed his eyes, not wanting to see you and your promise fade away into eternity.

Cold
It was supposed to be a normal day at the sandbox. Your group of four would have been able to hang out just like any other Saturday if Riku didn’t sneeze on Kairi a few days before, spreading his cold to her. Now, both of them were sick, having received an earful from their respective parents for lack of common sense. Needless to say, Riku will never sneeze without covering his mouth after that, and Kairi will never pick her nose again.
Only you and six-year-old Sora were sitting in the sandbox, engrossed in your own building. You two have never really been that close. Riku, being your big brother, was best friends with Sora, whose sister is best friends with you.
No one really said anything until your stomach growled. You blushed, pressing your bellybutton as though it would stop the noise. Instead, Sora stared awkwardly at you before bringing out something from his bag. Your eyes widened in curiosity at the strange fruit. Shaped like a star, the yellow fruit looked… delicious, even if it was a little green on the side.
“Want some?”

Connection
You were probably the closest thing he had to family, especially after Destiny Island was destroyed. Riku and Kairi were still missing and Donald and Goofy were still total strangers. Despite that you had separated him from his friends, he couldn't hate you. He needed this last connection to his home.
You.
You.
Therapy
“You can talk to me, you know,” you started. “Otherwise, you'll just be an insomniac until you talk.”
“You're a complete stranger,” he said grudgingly.
“All the better, right? I have no business telling anyone else about this talk.” Your eyes never left his blue ones even once during the course of your conversation. Instead of looking away, he simply returned your gaze.
“I don't want to be here.” Fair enough, you didn't want to be here either. Not as though you had a choice.
“Ah, there we go. You're talking already.”
“Are you really a doctor?” Oh, no. He caught on already.
“In a way.” A veterinarian counted as a doctor, right?
He laughed, leaning back against the couch and closed his eyes. Despite the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest, you knew he was still awake. Whatever was keeping him awake must have been tragic if he went to a vet's office for therapy without knowing.

Sarcasm
If you could write out a list of what you consider sarcasm and what you consider compliments and truths, Sora would probably be rolling so much that he'd fall down a hill. No joke. Either you were bad at expressing sarcasm or that the boy had so low an opinion of himself that he takes your sarcastic comments as real insults instead of hints.
“Sora, if I had a dime for every time you hug me like that, I'd still be poor.” It was true! He was so shy that every time he touched you, his nose would suddenly erupt and so much blood would come out that Riku thought that you punched the boy.
“Do you really expect me to eat a paopu fruit by myself?” You felt like Riku when you had to explain that. Surely the silver-haired teenager is related to Sora somehow, having inherited the patience of Sora's mother—who is, to you, is now equivalent to a higher being considering how she raised him.
“Dude, if you can't read... when I don't know how else I'm supposed to tell you I love you.” Okay, so you took an attempt at just telling him your feelings that time. No joke. If there was someone who could pull an insult from that, it would be Sora. The boy started to cry the moment you said that, thinking that you were calling him stupid for not being able to read your note to him.
But either way, you still loved the kid. No matter what you said, even if he thought it was mean, he always reacted in the same way. Before you could get angry at him for being so dense, he would go up to you and hug you—and of course, have a nosebleed.

Help
Beads of sweat rolled down your temple. Just a bit more, you thought as your finger tips strained forward. Just a few more centimeters before you're home free. Just when your finger tips touched the zippers, you wrongly followed your instincts and the next thing you knew, it was sliding down the back of your dress, drawing a loud groan of frustration from you.
“[your name]?” Sora's voice sounded muffled from the other side. “Need a little help?”
“No!” you exclaimed, blushing as you turned to the door. “Don't come in, Sora! It's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.”
“Really? This coming from the girl who just climbed in my window a few hours ago?” You wanted to wipe the smirk off his face even though you couldn't see it. Without another warning, the door was pushed open, revealing Sora dressed in his black tux.
No gel could hold down his spikes—not even the kind that Riku uses. Fixing his bow tie, he approached you, his smirk widening as he realized what your problem was. When he approached you, he finally said: “You know, you could ask me for help. If you prefer to walk down that aisle like this, while I'm happy that it'll just slip off conveniently for our honeymoon, I don't approve of the guys seeing you this way.”
“You're mean, you know that?” you pouted. “Hurry up and pull up my zipper.”
When his warm hand came in contact with your skin and your zipper, his smirk was probably ripping his face in half by now. You groaned inwardly as he finally muttered against your skin: “On second thought, why don't we just skip the ceremony?”

Appreciate
He had a rather terrible day.
First, he caught his girlfriend cheating on him with his best friend in the bathroom. Honestly, if one was going to cheat on his or her dating partner, pick a bathroom opposite to the gender of that particular partner. It would have spared him such an ugly sight.
Second, he failed the test that he earlier stayed up to study for all because he woke up late and didn't have enough time to finish. That resulted in him failing the other tests that occurred that day because he fell asleep studying for that previous test. His mom was not going to be happy with his grades.
Third, he bumped into some girl in the hallway and knocked all her stuff out of her hands. He wanted to apologize, but his bad mood didn't allow him the ability to do so without snapping at her. Instead, he just helped her pick everything up in silence.
When he finally finished, he said the strangest (and perhaps most beautiful and endearing) words to him: “Thank you.”
Well, maybe his day wasn't so bad after all.

Fragility
Ten. Why did you have to be hidden away like this?
Nine. He looked down at the red crystal clutched in his palm.
Eight. His feet were pounding like thunder against the ground.
Seven. If only time could stop for just one second.
Six. He wished he could just appear in front of you.
Five. Save her, he screamed them. Save her!
Four. There you are! Please don't be dead!
Three. He placed the red crystal against your chest.
Two. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Why aren't you awake yet?
One. Why aren't you alive anymore?
Bittersweet
The front door of his house slammed open and in came you and Sora. As he slammed you against the wall, his lips crashed onto yours, muffling the shout of pain. The magic of alcohol, you would have thought had you been sober, does wonders to the relationship between enemies. One moment you're biting each other's asses, the next, you're kissing them.
Savior
“I HATE YOU!”
His heart stopped beating. The sound of your voice resounded in his ears, echoing words of hate stabbed at his heart. The only source of light in the World that Never Was was that of the blinking neon light of a building, and all he could see were your tears. You were by Roxas's side, clutching him closely to your chest as he faded away.
She'll never know the truth. Even if I die. Promise me. The dying teenager's words echoed in Sora's ears, knowing he had to keep the promise. A smile lingered on Roxas's face, a bitter smirk of satisfaction at the damage he has done to yours and Sora's relationship.
It can't be helped. If he can't have you, Sora can't either.
You will never know, he thought, how much Sora loved you.

Soup
"[your name], you know, I'd think that you've got a crush on me if you weren't already dating my roommate," Riku teased as you trotted past his room with a bowl in your hands.
"Meanie," you remarked, closing the door to your boyfriend's room.
Inside the dimly-lit room, you could see his head poke out from under the blanket in the midst of his routine resurfacing. Sora was weird like that. More often than not, he would duck under the blanket and then sleep until he needed to breathe. When you brought the onion soup closer to his bedside, he moved, fidgeting ever so slightly to get a scent of your secret recipe. You laughed inwardly at your boyfriend, who was beginning to wake.
"Ready to eat?" you asked, opening the curtains slightly. When he flashed you a sleepy, lop-sided grin, you returned it, chuckling: "Sora, if you want some soup, you're going to have to get up."
"Can't you feed me?"

Ticklish
That day, you came to accept that someday, Sora will probably be the death of you. The guy was too touchy for his own good. You were inherently ticklish, a curse that did not extend to outbursts of laughter when he merely brushed past you. Clearly, you were a target for him and his warped definition of fun. Riku's presence still lived on, apparently. Even after he shipped himself off to Disney Castle, he still strongly influenced Sora with your weaknesses. Shows how good of a brother he was.
Despite the innocent expression always on Sora's face whenever his hand touched your bum, you knew it was probably a disguise for something more devilish.
Well, lucky for him, you two were dating.

Steps
He could still hear your laughter amongst the waves.
Every time he laid flat on the sand, he would listen. He could lay there all day, protected by the shade of the paopu tree that cowered over him, and think about you. Your smile, your laughter, your face, and even your dorky jokes. He remembered all the times when he would ride his bike down to this beach, sneaking up on you while you were totally engrossed in the world of the book.
Then when he got tired of thinking, Sora would walk out to the sea. Step by step. When the sun has already fallen under the horizon, when the water became bitterly cold, he would close his eyes and keep on walking. Step by step. The water would reach his toes, drawing a slight shudder from his body. Step by step. When it reached his waist, he felt too numb to shiver.
Step by step.
He thought of you again, trying to distract himself from the water rising to his neck, above his mouth, above his nose, above his head.
Step by step.
The ground fell beneath him and soon, he was flailing. Sora tried to remember why he walked out to the ocean, calming himself with thoughts that he was yet another step closer to you.
Step…
Your smile flashed across his mind. Soon, he would see it again and be able to touch it.
By…
He remembered the feeling of your hand, gentle and cold much like the ocean water surrounding him.
Step…
His feet touched land. His head shot out of the water, gasping for breaths of air. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t do it the way you did, the way you cruelly left this world, the way you cruelly left him. As he laid there, ignoring the chilly breeze that flushed over his wet clothes while the ocean to wash him back to shore, he heard your voice:
“Live for me.”

Wake
When Sora opened up his eyes, he expected to see you and jump into your open arms, but when the pod opened and he was thrown out into the cold world again, you weren't there.
Cinderella
The masquerade dream was short-lived. Before the clock struck twelve, you heard her voice.
The princess was looking for the prince, your prince.
His eyes searched frantically amongst the crowd, hand reaching out for the smaller one that he earlier held.
Happy endings don't exist after all.

Mortality
He probably didn't have long to live. The arrow plunged into his chest was so close to his heart that Sora was just waiting to die. He didn't want to though, knowing that you were waiting for him back home.
He promised that he'd be back.
He promised that the day he would return to that beach, he would go straight to his room and get the velvet box he'd been saving to propose to you.
A lone tear ran down his eyes, reliving the fantasy that he dreamed of. The worst part of it all was that even if he died, you wouldn't remember him.

Artist
You were always sitting at the park from morning to noon. Even when it rained, you were faithful to your spot in the green scenery. On your easel would be a clean canvas every morning, painting what the sky looked like that day.
“What do you think of the sky today?” you asked him whenever he was near.
“Bleak. It looks like it's going to rain,” Sora said, “There's a bit of cloud too.”
He wasn't always around though. If he wasn't around, you would paint something else, be it a figure, person, or some strange landscape. Your eyes were always fixed on your canvas, paintbrush dipping into the easel every now and then to get a dab of paint. Whenever you painted, you would be talking to him, bringing in small conversation until you were done.

Sorry
Somehow, he ached to hear you cry, because that meant you still loved him. However, standing outside your silent apartment made him worry and seeing Roxas’s bike perched outside made him scared.
Had you gotten over him? The clipped tone with which you answered when he called a while ago was cold and unfriendly. He feared the worst, that somehow Roxas has replaced him in your heart. You had the blond wrapped around your pinky as soon as Sora took you home for the first time. He was always scared of going home one day to find you in his twin brother’s arms.
He was a step too late from your door and a word too late of “I’m sorry.”

Sexy
As society has dictated, a man often finds a woman attractive if she reveals an efficient amount of skin. Efficient, in this context, means either as much as possible—for women who have an supermodel body—or just in the right places—such as women who have sexy legs as opposed to a stomach freshly scared by childbirth.
Riku likes his women revealing. His eyes are often drawn to girls who are confident in their walk, strutting like the world’s going to end tomorrow. He didn’t really care what brand names they wear as long as he didn’t have to pay for it. Hell, if she’s hot, he might overlook the rotten personality.
Roxas likes his women mysterious. Girls like Namine attract him like bees to honey. His imaginary heart tends to melt when a woman pays attention to him, keeping a good distance so that he’d wonder why she’d leave when he is okay again. Unlike Riku, Roxas leans towards girls who wears the right clothes. So perhaps he can stand a bit of midriff or a little cleavage, but too much behind might scare him away.
Sora, finally, loves his women sexy. Sexy, in this context, doesn’t always mean curve-hugging shirts or tube tops; it means… well, whatever you are. Riku would cringe at the thought of you doing the cat walk down the walkway, since he can virtually see neither curves nor confidence—you define shyness. Roxas would cry every time you opened your mouth; your smartass comments whenever he had a curious thought about any particular subject leave nothing to the imagination. Sora would only laugh when thinking about Roxas’s sixteenth birthday party when he asked why you only referenced dolphins when talking about sex. Surely your mouth contrasts with your shyness, but he loved it. Your contradictory nature always kept him on his toes.
Well, one couldn’t really say Sora loves his women sexy, more like he just loves you.

Return
“Today’s the day, Kairi. I think he’ll come back.” I whispered.
Kairi said nothing. I think she didn’t believe me. I whispered those words everyday to myself, hoping that they would come true. But they didn’t. They never did. Kairi has already given up. After a year of coming with me to the secret cave every day to wait for them to return, she stopped coming, explaining that her mother did not allow her to stay out late anymore.
I continued to wait. I went there everyday until today. Today, I didn’t come. I stood in front of the vine-covered entrance, waiting for the sound of the door creaking open. I stayed outside in the dock all day, laying there on the dock until I fell asleep and woke up again when it was night.
No one woke me up. Tidus and the others know what was going on. When they had tried to talk me out of it, it didn’t work. I exhaled softly, opening my eyes to the sky filled with stars. More stars than usual.
As the cold water touched my toes, I smiled softly, repeating: “Today’s the day, Kairi. I think he’ll come back.

Present
Oh gawd. Sora’s jaw was probably only inches away from the ground while he took in the sight in front of him.
He always loved the color red, but he loved it more when you wear it.

Pictures
There is a common belief that the pictures hanging on the walls are snapshots of a person’s heart. Those who have an abundance of those keepsakes are very open about themselves and those with a few are very reserved. Either way, to better know a person, one must look at what’s in the picture. As wise men have said, a picture is worth a thousand words.
If someone came to your house while you weren’t home, they would find the walls sparsely decorated, since you were never the type to be able to correctly align the frames without messing up. Instead, they would find pictures locked in frames as an attempt to freeze time; aside from those, photo albums full of random moments of your life.
If they looked closer at the picture, they would see what made you happiest—or rather, who. You were never someone who opened up to others, being an orphan takes such sentimentality away. In every picture, he was at the center, he was the subject, and you were in there with him. Be it peeking out from a corner or embraced in his arms, you two would be smiling with a twinkle so bright that they’d think it’s fake because they’ve never experienced it personally.

Untouchable
It only took a moment before Sora opened his eyes, finding nothing in his wake. The darkness, he found, was similar to being blind. The light has always existed and will always exist, but it won’t reach him now.
They’ve taken away his friends, Donald and Goofy’s cries of distraught have fallen silent to Maleficient’s evil cackle. They’ve taken away his key, when Riku, completely emerged in darkness, grasped forward and took away everything he thought to be true. They took away his heart, when Kairi has awakened only to fall once more.
But… (in my memory)
The sound of waves and splashing reached his ears quietly…
You… (my most important person)
Your laughter, like soft chimes, echoed in his ears.
Were… (there in my heart)
Your silhouette, your hands, your face, your eyes, your nose, your lips, your smile…
Untouchable. (my dearly beloved)
Even if he died and become taken by the darkness, Sora would never let them touch you in his memories.

Bird
“[your name].”
“Sora? What are you doing here?” you inquired, pulling him in from the rain.
“I didn’t want you to leave without knowing that—“
“That you love me. And I love you as well,” you responded, blushing rather furiously at your own confession.
“How did you know?”
“A little birdie told me,” you responded, silently thanking Riku for his big mouth.

Alive
He was still alive, right?
The blood flowing down his wrist was still warm. His breathing, although rather erratic, hadn’t stopped. The beating of his heart became random and sometimes gradually slowed. Although he could only stare hazily at the world, it was still right in front of him. There was only one thing missing…
A person, actually.
You.

Strings
Sora woke up to the sight of your grinning face. Your smile stretched from ear to ear, much like a Cheshire cat, and your eyes twinkled ever so brightly and… mischievously. He liked seeing you smile, but when it’s accompanied by shifty eyes and a twitching smirk, something had to be going on.
He proceeded to roll over, hopefully ducking any perverted attempts you might take to molest him. Normally, he’d be okay with it, but today was different. It was rare for him to get a holiday from work, so if you weren’t going to sleep in with him, he’d sleep in without you. Instead of being able to successfully turn on his right side, he felt a sharp tug at his left ring finger.
With a cheeky grin at the red thread connecting the two of you, you giggled: “Lookie, Sora… we’re connected by the thread of destiny! Looks like we don’t need the paopu fruit after all!”

Numb
You felt such warmth resonating from the boy’s body as he held you close. The strange tangy yet sweet scent of his hair saturated your senses, rendering your thoughts short-circuited as you relished this pleasant moment in time. His embrace lingered for what felt like eternity until your arms slowly attempted to return the gesture.
As if mocking you, time put distance between the two of you, an awkward silence that would forever hang over you. He pulled away from you, head turned the other way and strands of brown cloaking his blue eyes.
“I hope we meet again…” you choked.
“Yea…” he shrugged, shoving his hands into his pockets. “I’ll never forget you…”
Inside of you, something shattered with a final cry of defeat. You wished you could say the same to him.

Heart
Nothing could thaw his still heart, frozen beyond belief and kept away from him in his slumber.
In his dreams, Sora saw you. The upward curve of your lips lifted him to the sky while the twinkle in your eyes made him want to kiss him. The soft-spoken voice with which you've always spoken to him echoed all around him, warmth wrapping around him in the same magnitude just like the day you two first met.
He could hear himself saying "Hi" when all that came out was "Hello." When he reached out to touch you, the hand that graced your skin was not his own. He couldn't feel the softness of your skin when he leaned in to kiss you.
He could only lower his head in despair when you said: "Come on, Roxas. You're leaving tomorrow. It's only sensible that we spend time together."
Sora's heart was frozen. Too afraid to feel, it told him, trembling ever so painfully at the memory of you. He, too, was afraid, for he couldn't bear the thought of you forgetting him.

Pillow
“MAN DOWN! MAN DOWN!” you shouted, running past Roxas who was lying on the ground clutching his stomach, “MOVE BACK, TEAM!”
Two silhouettes moved behind you, retreating back behind the fortress as you followed as well. When a flash of brown crossed your sight, you ducked, narrowing missing the white bullet by mere centimeters. When everything was quiet, you and your team members, Kairi and Riku, peeked through the peepholes, hearts beating profusely while trying to find the other side. Slowly, you nodded towards Riku, who returned the gesture before crawling to the other end of the fort.
His shout signaled another attack, and then, you were on the offense once again.
The battle ended rather quickly, a flash of brown, a flash of white, and you were on the ground, dizzy and dazed. Riku was captured rather quickly, being confused by Olette who had tripped him with her leg before slamming her pillow onto his face. Kairi… well, she was never a match for Hayner. She was lucky that he wasn’t holding a struggle bat.
As for you… well, consider yourself a prisoner of war. Instead of letting you go, your boyfriend straddled your legs, grinning mischievously as he perched the pillow under your head.
“No fair, Sora,” you pouted. “You’re too tall for me.”
“All’s fair in love and war, [your name],” he grinned, pulling you closer to his chest as he settled down beside you: “Goodnight. When you lose for the rematch tomorrow, you should make some cake.”

Baby
“OH MY GAWWWWWWWD!!” you screamed, digging your claw-like nails into his arm. Sora stifled a scream, knowing that it would only worsen the situation if he sent out one too.
“[your name], you’re gonna have to loosen up on my hand if you’re gonna—“
“SHUT THE HELL UP, SORA!” you glared at him, giving another push to the doctor’s instructions, “IT’S YOUR FAULT THAT I’M LIKE THIS!”
“Honey, you’re beautiful when you’re angry—“
“Oh you don’t know angry, Sora,” you growled. “I want a fucking divorce after all this is over.”
“Baby, you don’t mean that. Next time—“
“You mean there’s a next time?! FUCK!” you screamed again, giving a final push.
By now, Sora might as well amputate his arm. He can no longer feel his hand now that you’ve exhausted your strength on it. Finally at the sound of a crying “miracle,” you sighed in relief, closing your eyes to rest. With danger potentially at hand, your husband bravely ventured forward to kiss the top of your head: “See? You’re beautiful.”
“Don’t even try, mister. We’re gonna have a long talk about birth control when I get home…”

Poetry
Dear [your name],
If roses were red,
Then so is my heart.
If you were in my bed,
I’ll never let you depart.
- Sora
Dear Sora,
If violets are blue,
Which they are not,
You will escape the flu
Which I hope you have caught.
- [your name]
If roses were red,
Then so is my heart.
If you were in my bed,
I’ll never let you depart.
- Sora
Dear Sora,
If violets are blue,
Which they are not,
You will escape the flu
Which I hope you have caught.

Infinite
In that moment, I swear we were infinite.
You wanted to believe that.As you snuggled against Roxas, you wanted to believe that you were only dreaming about the sounds coming from next door.

Opposites
In the dimly lit room, only the soft breathing of two souls would be heard if one tried hard enough. Two bodies were tangled in the silk sheets that had helpfully lent themselves to cover the lovers until they want to expose themselves to each other once more.
Your head rested on Sora's chest as you lazily traced circles on his toned stomach. Gently, his fingers kneaded your hair, relishing in the silky feel of each strand. His dark blue eyes gazed lovingly at you though you could not see. Your eyes remained closed, trying to play out the aftermath of this relationship if it were to survive this ordeal.
It was just tonight, you told him. Just tonight. It would be the secret between you two, buried in the darkness forever.
Tomorrow, you would go back to being enemies.

Soraholic
“OW! WHAT THE--”
Sora whipped around immediately only to see his attacker's [hair color] turn around the corner. Before he could hear the mischievous giggle, Riku's hand tapped him on the shoulder.
The silver-haired teenager completely forgot what he was going to tell his best friend the moment a look of amusement mixed with slight disgust filled his face: “What the hell? Sora, who bit you?”

Jealous
It wasn’t really a surprise to you. You knew that someday, your boyfriend will somehow make out with you senselessly after cornering you into a secluded place and telling you how jealous he was of your childhood friend. You didn’t expect it to be today though—it was a couple of years too soon for Sora to grow a mean bone in his body.
His bright blue eyes glared at you, seemingly dark because he blocked out the sun. His lips formed a thin line, as if waiting for you to explain your case so that he’d forgive you and you both would go back to normal. Instead, you asked: “What’s wrong, Sora?”
“What do you mean, what’s wrong? I should be asking that. When does my girlfriend go to a dance with another guy?”
“Since he decided that he would rather be working than spending time with her. You have no one to blame but yourself, Sora,” you snapped. “And for your information, Roxas is my friend.”
“I couldn’t just take off in the middle of work!”
“You mean you wouldn’t! Did you expect me to throw away my senior year simply because you’re too busy to spend time with me?” you stopped for a while to catch your breath. Soon enough, you continued: “And not to mention, all you’ve been doing is—“
Oh. My. God.
“…kissing me.”
“Shut up.”

Murderer
Oh, the irony of it all, you thought, staring tearfully at the moon.
Your head rested against his back, trying not to fall asleep to its warmth. You felt dirty, choosing to stay with him after what he has done to you, to Roxas. Everything was a lie, you knew.
The words of sweet nothingness he whispered to you, the warm embraces you sleep in every night, the kindness with which he treats the child Roxas left behind for you, they were all lies. He couldn't possibly love you. You hated it all. You hated choosing to be with a murderer like him.
You hated loving him.

Heart
The featherless feeling of drifting down was beginning to leave him. Sora's eyes opened slowly to find light… beneath him. When his body finally straightened and his feet touched the ground, he smiled unconsciously at the sight in front of him.
He has finally found you.
He has finally found you.
Concerto
He missed several notes already and he was only two minutes into the song. The way he handled the violin would make even one who has no knowledge of instrument-handling cringe. Sometimes his notes were flat because he didn’t press down on the strings hard enough. His knuckles, while gripping the neck of the instrument, were so white that one would be afraid that he’d break it.
Every now and then the brown strands would cover his eyes so that he wouldn’t be able to see the music sheet in front of him. As a result, in the middle of the song, he would be the only seven-year-old to lower his violin in order to fix his hair. Not to mention, he also forgot his glasses that night—so from time to time, one would see this second grader lean forward and disrupt the uniformity of the orchestra playing the concerto. The conductor was probably crying on the inside.
Perhaps it was best that he was in the middle of his section, strategically placed, too, even if he did belong at the last chair. That way, the sounds of those who surround him would drown out his terrible playing. If Antonio Vivaldi lived to listen to this, he would probably fall back and die.
Then there were you. At the sweet spot of the auditorium sat seven-year-old you, surrounded by grumbling adults who were hoping to get a seat there to hear the best of their child. It didn’t matter anyway, everyone in that orchestra sucked and they knew it. They just needed something to sugar-coat the comments they would bestow upon their kiddies. However, that wasn’t going to happen since you were sitting in that seat.
You heard everything. The screeching of the violin when he would bow it the wrong way was evident to you. You definitely caught the flatness of the notes and definitely the wrong notes even when you weren’t a connoisseur of music. Sora went too fast at parts that were slow and too slow at parts that were fast. When the concert was over, you ran up to him and showered him with hugs, exclaiming proudly: “You were great, Sora!”

Hippy
His jaw dropped so low that it hit the ground and bounced a couple of times.
What the hell were you doing in a bikini outside his house?
What the hell were you doing in a bikini outside his house?
Flee
Away from this place,
He did not need their sympathy.
The uncaring eyes and fake tears
Did not mean a thing to him.
He only needed you back.
He did not need their sympathy.

Did not mean a thing to him.

Echo
Sometimes Sora wondered if the laughter echoing inside his mind were merely a fragment of his imagination or if you had really woke up from your slumber.
Imaginary
As he laid on the grass, Sora would imagine his future with you.
The girl who had broken his heart. The girl who had left for the darkness. The girl who had abandoned him. He would have given everything up for you if you had asked. His Keyblade, his friends, and his life. No questions asked. No second thoughts.
Instead, all you did was walk out of that door.
He pictured trying to catch up with your quick strides as you dragged him to the beach. Your laughter would sound like music with the chimes of your keychain being played by the wind. Your hair would tickle his face when you would stop to give him a kiss. The cold splash of the water against your skin would send you running back to pull him into the water with you. The sun would watch the two of you with envy, longing to be with his beloved moon.
But when he would open his eyes, Sora would only see the night skies and remember that you were no longer there.

Hypothetical
“This sucks…” you muttered, dropping yourself on the brownie’s couch as soon as the two of you got home from school.
“What did you do now?” he responded, raising an eyebrow.
You acted flabbergasted, “What did I do? What would I do? Me? A good girl?”
“[your name], spit it out.”
You rolled your eyes, muttering something along the lines of him being boring, and replied: “Nothing. I just decided to help Roxas after school with his project. I was high or something when he asked me because I don’t remember WHEN he did so. Today when I was getting ready to go, he said that I had to help him or he’ll—he’ll do something bad.”
“Define bad.” Bad as in either he managed to get Kairi to tell him about your secret or he eavesdropped on you two during the slumber party. You liked to think that Kairi had the backbone to not tell her brother everything.
Like tell-Sora-about-your-crush-on-him bad. “Like blackmail-bad.”
“Do you want me to talk to him?” Because Sora can talk his cousin out of anything.
“It’s fine,” you responded.
“If you say so.”
After a while, you finally spoke again, “Say Sora, let me ask you something.”
“Sure thing, [your name].” As always, you failed to detect the sarcasm in his voice, because obviously, Sora would never say anything sarcastic.
“Would you believe it if Roxas came to you and said, ‘[your name] likes you!’?”
“No, why?”
“Nothing, just wondering. Why wouldn’t you believe him?”
“It’s not the first time he said it. Besides, we’re best friends. There’s no way you’d like me.”
“Right…” you muttered, sighing inwardly. You didn’t know whether to be thankful for his denseness or feel sad that the relationship would never work between the two of you.

Contest
“Ready?” Kairi muttered after digging into her bag for her stop watch.
Sora and you stared at each other in contempt, determined to settle the score once and for all. Bracing either hands on the surface of the pool, the two of you started to glare at each other some more. Riku rolled his eyes from above the tree; he could feel the tension ripping the atmosphere apart. He couldn’t imagine how Kairi could handle it from down there with the two goofballs trying to kill each other with their death ray visions.
Finally when the signal was set for the two of you to begin, you both dived underwater, eyes never leaving the other despite the slight sting of the freshwater. At least you weren’t in the ocean.
Out of nowhere, you felt the air leave your lungs. Those breath-holding contests were finally beginning to take a toll on you. Sora, on the other hand, seemed to be experiencing no problems. He seemed to be enjoying himself too!

Dandelion
The walk home had been quiet. Sora was actually bored, having come home from his adventures only to start attending high school again. He couldn’t brag about his achievements and he couldn’t tell anyone. Except for Kairi and Riku. You, his girlfriend, was not included in his list of confidents and you, his girlfriend, were the one he wanted to tell every moment of his adventures about.
Silently the two of you walked, hand-in-hand. He stared up at the summer sky, wishing that Donald and Goofy would appear and take him away because someone needed his help.
“Something the matter, Sora?” you asked.
He shook his head, responding absentmindedly, “Bored… that’s it.”
You often wondered where he went for two years, though his mom simply said that he went to visit his uncle at another island. Sora never sent you a single letter or anything to show that he missed you. Now that he’s back, you wondered if he still had any feelings for you. Something caught your eye at the corner of the garden, drawing you closer until you can pick it and bring it up to eyelevel. Sora stared at you curiously, wondering what you were going to do with the dandelion.
“What are you going to do?”
“Making a wish.” Without another word, you blew at the dandelion, closing your eyes as its tiny pollens flew into the wind. You wished that he would tell you what went on during his time away. You wished that Sora would intertwine his fingers with you and smile at you whenever you two were talking to one another. You wished that you could be close to him again.

Sanctuary
The sweaty feeling of his hand did not loosen his grip on yours. The ground beneath the two of you was moving. Apart. Sora’s eyes widened in horror as he reached out to pull you to him, but it was too late. Even when you were trying to reciprocate, the two of you could not stay together. When Riku’s voice shouted for help behind him, the two of you looked in his direction, seeing what was causing his distress.
Heartless. They were trying to push open the giant gates.
“I love you,” Sora whispered, “I’ll return to you.”
“No, Sora, don’t—“
“I promise.”
“Sora! No—“
“I love you. I love you. I love you!” His eyes snapped shut as he pushed you back, causing you to land on the ground and scraping your elbow against the soft sands. Sora turned around without looking at you and ran to help his friend.
You tried to believe in his promise, but you couldn’t. The only thing you could do to stop your heart from breaking was to whisper back, “I love you too…”

Lendemain
As you cry silently in bed, you hoped that Sora would keep his promise. You wanted to wake up next to Sora, if not tomorrow, the day after, perhaps.
Comedy
You two have GOT to be the weirdest couple ever. While everyone had been too busy laughing their asses off in the movie theatre, you and Sora were too busy sticking your tongues down each other’s throat. Tonsil tennis was better than some guy falling on his bum any day.
Homecoming
“Where are Sora and [your name]?” Kairi asked curiously, peering over her boyfriend’s shoulder every now and then.
“In the janitor’s closet,” he simply responded, casually resting his arms around her waist.
A dust of pink brushed past her cheeks when all she managed to say was “Oh.”

Reminisce
“Remember that shooting star? When you told me to make a wish?” you whispered, unable to take your eyes away from the sky full of diamonds. A tear slid from your eyes as you intertwined your fingers with the larger cold ones: “Wake up, Sora. The sky is waiting for you...”
Next to you, the limp body looked as though it was asleep. His lashes did not flutter at the sound of your voice, and even when the wind blew the angelic brown strands to his face, his hand did not reach up to brush it away. His pale lips, slightly opened as though in the midst of whispering its final words.
Of course I remember...

Joke
“Man, [your name], I heard the craziest thing today,” Sora chuckled as he plopped on your couch. Clatters could be heard in the kitchen, you probably weren’t listening. You were in the “zone.”
“Oh yea?” you responded. “And what is it?”
“Well, Riku pulled me into the bathroom today after lunch and was all, [your name] likes you!” he burst out laughing, “Can you believe that?”
“Oh yea, sure…” you laughed quietly, “That crazy Riku.”
“Man, I wish he wouldn’t joke like that, trying to play around with us,” Sora grumbled.
Even though you two were in different rooms, you were both thinking the same thing. “If only…”

Angel
Sora traced his footsteps in the snow back to the pine tree which stood at the center of the forest in Halloween Town. His blue eyes followed the branches to the top where a bright star-like fruit sat. Suddenly a smile grew on his lips. A paopu fruit.
“Donald! Goofy! She’s back! She’s back!” he shouted, running back to his friends.
When you see a paopu fruit in a Christmas tree, come look for me.

Buddy
“[your name], do you know who did this?” the teacher asked, holding a paopu fruit to your face.
The aroma filled your senses, making it incredibly hard to think because you were so hungry. You eyed the two bites on the fruit, gulping as you tried to think of the quickest lie. The teacher glanced at Sora, who stared at you, wide-eyed and hoping that you wouldn’t give him out.
“…I didn’t see. If you want another paopu fruit, you can have mine instead.” Sora released a long-held breath. Finally the teacher gave up, taking the offering you held up and throwing the bitten in the trash. When the teacher left, Sora came to you, giving you a hug for covering him. “Next time, you better share one with me, Sora.”
The brownie nodded, taking out another one from his pocket, bitten like the last, “You can have some of this.”

Letters
“He sent you a letter every day.”
Sincerely
You couldn’t decide how to end it. Yours truly? Too fast. Love? You couldn’t bear to write something like that to him after Kairi’s death. She was your sister after all, and he was her husband. Always? What if you couldn’t keep that promise?
Sincerely. The word written in cursive seemed to be mocking you, because you weren’t sincere. You didn’t want him to move away and leave you behind.

Crybaby
When you opened your mouth to scream, nothing came out. Instead, your older brother merely squeezed another chunk of your meat, chuckling quite menacingly at how chunky it was.
If only Sora was there. The brownie promised to protect you from everything. Then again, having met him when he first joined your brother's group of cute bullies, he probably wouldn't.

Ring
Sora loved your eyes. Despite that you often say that his own were more beautiful than yours, he didn’t believe you. There was something about your eyes that would get his heart stuttering like a child.
Blank
You’ve been sitting there for hours, trying to find the words to begin this story. Should you start at the beginning when you two first met? Maybe you could begin at the first kiss, perhaps his confession, or were you the one who shouted “I love you!” when you were falling towards the ocean and into the alligator’s mouth.
At the sound of cloths rustling, you finally got it. You would start before the beginning. Your life without him had been drastically different compared to when you met him.

Rebel
“Clear the hallways!” Sora’s voice bellowed down the corridors of Destiny High.
No one was really there, anyway. Being in an academically competitive school eliminated all the work for him for he had no need to tell a couple of nerds to go to class when such is already their destination. One can only learn so much by sitting at the front of the room, but it’s certainly better than anywhere else in the room—being able to sit in the front means they’d have to get to class first.
Well, perhaps the corridor wasn’t exactly empty of students. You, with your bag slung over your shoulder, trudged slowly from fountain to fountain, taking a momentary sip from each until Sora came up to you. He glared at you, as if waiting for you to cower and run to class. Instead, you simply stared at him, gave a tiny nod, and walked past.
“Why are you still here? Get to class!” he shouted.
Instead of flinching, you gave a wave before heading for the front door, mumbling silently: “See ya.”

Scandalous
Riku yawned, scrubbing the sleep out of his eyes as he left his tent. The cool sand filled the spaces between his toes as he stepped out. The bonfire had been put out and the only sound slicing through the cold night air was the splashing of the ocean against its shores…. And something else. Of course, Riku, being drowsy and sleepy, didn’t hear it.
The silver-haired walked off towards the woods after mumbling to the neighboring tent which would house his best friend and his best friend’s girlfriend that he would be going to the restroom. It was cautionary, despite how unnecessary it sounded. As he trotted past the beach, he contemplated on just going right there, not like anyone was going to catch him or anything, but instead, he walked on. That was, until he arrived at the rocks near the cave.
“Hold on, [your name],” Sora’s voice echoed. “Let me get in first.”
“Well, hurry up, Sora. It’s cold up there!” you whined.
Riku’s eyes widened in shock as he suddenly forgot his need to pee and tiptoed towards the cave. Sora’s groan came into earshot and soon after, you started to moan. The silver-haired pervert wanted to go in and catch you two in the act—since you so fervently swore in the name of chastity—but it would be too risky. A splash made his ears perk, and then your giggling made his imagination go wild.
“Gawd, that feels GOOD,” you moaned. “Do it again, Sora.”
“Like this?” the brownie asked, making you moan again. Suddenly the silver-haired teen’s clothes started to get really warm. “How about this?”
Dear god, now he was having a nosebleed from just what he imagined you two were doing. Before his imagination could take a step forward, a hand slapped on his back, sending him back to the reality where he needed to pee. He turned around, meeting the navy orbs of his friend, Kairi, who had her arms folded in front of her chest and a stern look on her face. “Mind I ask, what are you doing?”

Dandy
So far, you were having perhaps the worst birthday ever. You woke up to an empty bed in which your hubby was supposed to be located because he promised that he'd take the day off to spend time with you. What made it worse was how he gained the audacity to tell you that his boss called him in--and he was the boss!
So instead of moping him with ice cream, you decided to call your brother. When you found out what Riku was doing in the other line, you crossed Kairi off the list you were going to call. The girl didn't know what she was getting into, but lucky for her, you could beat Riku up if he hurts your best friend.
The one time you took the initiative to call Roxas, he was "busy." You wanted to hit his head, after all these years of being your best friend, he, too, decided to skip out on you.
Great. You were doomed to spend your birthday alone.
By the time nine o'clock was closing in, you were going to cry, sitting in your living room alone with a lone cupcake and candle. Sighing, you murmured: "Happy birthday to me..."
"[your name]?" your husband's voice called from the door. Concern filled his blue eyes at the look on your face, "What are you doing by yourself?"
"Eating my birthday cake," you pouted.
"That doesn't look like a birthday cake."
"Well, duh, Sora. I don't have a real one because no one wanted to celebrate it with me."
"We do."
Your head shot up. It's been three years since your birthday wish came true. Your friends were standing before you, and your husband holding a rather delectable carrot cake, looking quite delectable himself probably because Riku managed to get him to wear something he doesn't usually wear.
"Happy birthday!"

Density
"So when our universe exceeds the critical density, it will become too much to hold up and will eventually, due to gravity being a total bitch, collapse into itself... And then we die. That's what I like to call being too dense."
Sora had already stopped writing, looking innocently at your face when you put your notes down. The brownie smiled at you and kissed your cheek, drawing a powder pink reaction from you.
"Shouldn't you be taking notes?" you grumbled.
"Well, keep talking. I like hearing your voice."
"Oh, well, in that case..."
As you continued to ramble, he merely perched his chin on his palm, wondering when you'd get the hint. It seems Riku did know his sister best after all.

Static
Sora wanted to hide in a closet away from all the embarrassment laughing at him in the face. He couldn't believe what he did. Oh gawd, the memory of such an event brought your scream of horror echoing through his mind once again.
Halloween is officially the worst holiday ever.
When he was put into a vampire costume, no one told him that being sparkly meant that he has electricity in him. No one told him he would induce static either. He usually didn't notice it, since Kairi was wearing rubber gloves for her Cat Woman costume and Riku was trying to be Batman.
Only when you hugged him with your sundress (one of your few attempts to be Marilyn Monroe) did he finally know. Your blond locks, fortunately, did not stand on end since you had it tied up. That would have been a less embarrassing way for him to find out anyway.
Instead, it was your body.
When he shocked you, you jumped, effectively grinding against him and drawing out a rather obvious response. He didn't stay long enough to see you blush though, it would only make it worst for him.
Oh how Sora hated Halloween.

Shards
Riku had a good day. Actually, an excellent day. His boss had promoted him to the chief executive position of his branch the moment he stepped into the office that day, he enjoyed a bit of alone time with Namine, and Kairi gave him her phone number. So in short, he really was have a good day. Until he came home.
The sound of a pot cracking sent him rushing into the kitchen where you were standing with your back facing towards him and with a finger in Sora’s mouth. You didn’t even notice that your brother had already stepped into the room, ready to ram the brownie into a cabinet because Sora was doing strange things with his mouth. You had trouble focusing on deciding whether or not you should get a bandaid because his tongue was flicking back and forth at your finger.
“I think she’s thoroughly disinfected, Sora,” Riku remarked dryly, folding his arms in front of his chest. Unfortunately, the silver-haired man’s comment fell deaf to the couple’s ears. “[your name], guess what, kiddo, I got a promotion today, and Namine asked me out on a date and—“
And poor Riku who kept on rambling and rambling.

Admiration
Sometimes Roxas wanted to rip the grin off Sora’s face. The goofy smile that would break across his face the moment you walked into the room. He didn’t understand why plain ol’ [your name] could draw such attention from his twin, though it was only fact that Sora was easily impressed by just about anyone. You were different, somehow.
The moment Sora met you, he leaned over and whispered to Roxas and said, “I’m gonna marry that girl, Rox. She’s so beautiful.” When you smiled, Sora got so excited that Roxas had to whisper death threats to him to keep his twin from asking to bring you home. No doubt you would freak out at his eagerness.
The two of you started dating rather quickly, and soon, Sora didn’t have time for Roxas anymore, leaving the abandoned twin to wonder what was so great about you that made his brother drop him like a hot potato. He only fully understood why when you rushed outside that one rainy afternoon with an umbrella to hand it to him. He could only blink at the act of kindness and mutter a cautionary “You should dry yourself up before you catch a cold” before taking the umbrella and making his way home while you continued to wait for Sora.
It was then that he decided, he wanted to find someone just like you.

Clone
The five-year-old mini brownie gawked at the sand structure in the middle of the sandbox for about five seconds before he broke away from your grip with his own castle-building equipment to make his way towards the sandbox. You and your husband promised to watch him under the shade of the tree in the event that he would discover something amazing.
You and Sora shared a few innocent kisses underneath the tree before you married and ended up with kids. It wasn’t as though you stopped sharing those now-less-than-innocent kisses under the tree, you were just more discreet about it. Before it could have gone any farther, the pipsqueak’s voice screamed for his parents to come over.
When you two did, Sora’s eyes widened a bit when a smile of pride broke out on his face. “Well damn. Now we know whose kid you are. Let me take a picture and we can rub this in uncle Riku’s face.”

Baby Daddy
Riku’s lips twitched as you inched closer to Sora in order to perch your legs on his. The brownie did not stir from his nap; instead, he simply settled his hand on your legs as he snuggled closer to you and your book-reading self. You weren’t fazed, turning the page as though such actions of his were to be expected.
“So why did I take you guys to the beach if I knew you were just going to laze around all day?” Riku muttered, making his way to the cool ocean. “Lazy asses…”
Sora sat up groggily at the sound of his best friend’s voice, staring around curiously until his eyes landed on yours. That said, he leaned in giving you a kiss on the lips before lying back down. The silver-haired teenager rolled his eyes at the scene. He decided against inviting Kairi on the trip because he thought it would be a man’s weekend. Oh how wrong he was. You had oh-so-gracefully invited yourself into the car after saying something about Kairi being sick and you having nothing to do for the weekend.
You usually don’t do it and Riku wouldn’t have allowed it, but you had said something before entering the car that rendered him speechless and had Sora rolling on the ground laughing his ass off. “Hey Riku, wanna be my babydaddy?”
“NO. GET YOUR ASS IN THE CAR AND SHUT THE HELL UP.” And next thing you know, you were cuddling with Sora in the backseat.

Binary
Sora felt like crying, clutching the note in his hand. Despite that you so happily smiled at him that morning, he couldn’t help but thinking you were trying to leave him. Lately, you’ve been having so much fun with Riku, what with you having Computer Science with him. You guys have been exchanging notes back and forth in some language he didn’t even understand. Sometimes he would find random notes in your backpack scribbled with Riku’s messy handwriting:
//default methods declared
Boy Riku = new Boy( );
Girl [your name] = new Girl( );
Riku.hits ([your name]);
What in the world did that even mean?!
Worst of all, now you give him a note. Were you breaking up with him? Did you decide that you didn’t want to be mean to him and have him figure out the truth by himself? Placing his head on his desk, Sora gave a muffled groan of frustration. It certainly didn’t help that you had forgotten your anniversary. One year since you guys have started the relationship and then you decided to break up with him.
No matter, he would get you back. He will make you fall for him again. Crumbling the note in his pocket, he proceeded to go to your Computer Science class, completely forgetting to find out what the note said:

Addiction
Boy, did you love to play video games.
You played that game every day no matter how many times you've already beaten it. Heck, you even knew the exact second that he would say a certain word. Sure, there were hotter guys in the game. That one blond kid who's emo all the time and that other emo guy with silver hair—they're both hot. For some reason, you liked that one brownie though.
He's so feminine that he doesn't even know it.
Sometimes, it made you wonder if you were a lesbian.
If only he was real, right? Then again, if he was real, you'd turn into a sexual harasser, wanting to molest him all day.

Christmas
Sora could not keep the smile off his face while wandering endlessly in the square of the Third District. Traverse Town could not be any livelier during this time of the year. The gang was off decorating Cid’s shop, making the old man crazy with their ideas of “holiday spirit.” Even upstairs, the moogles could not stand all the noise.
Donald and Goofy were off to shop for their respective significant other—Sora never knew that Goofy was in any sort of romantic relationship. That nearly caused the room to collapse when he oh-so-casually leaked the words. Needless to say, Merlin was probably the only person who had just the thing for them.
Sora contemplated going to him, with you in mind. He remembered the day when he was still living on Destiny Island—when life was still quite normal—how you used to rant about the ring you walked by everyday after school on the mainland. You were incredibly distraught to find it gone one day. Sora was beginning to run out of things to lie about when he tried to reassure you that it wasn’t really gone. He would have given it to you that day if he really had the guts to do so.
And now, he smiled sadly, pulling the ring out from underneath his shirt where it was hooked in a chain as a necklace, now it was too late. He would give the world in order to see you again just so he could put the ring on your finger. He continued walking, past the Third District so that he’d come back to the First District. The streets were emptier than usual, as all of its usual habitants have gone home to spend time with their special people.
As he walked past the window of the Three Duck Brothers’ Shop, he waved at them, returning the smile that they so generously thrown at him when they first saw him. Suddenly, his heart stopped.
Hi, Sora!
Even if he tried his hardest, he probably wouldn’t be able to not smile when he saw the one on your face. Your reflection in the window was just the same as he remembered the day before Destiny Island was destroyed. When he whipped around, he was once again faced with an empty street and the whisper of a chilly breeze. It carried with it your voice from the far distance, saying: “I miss you, Sora. Merry Christmas.”

One: When you cried about him punching you, he only hugged you so you’d shut up and not tell on him.
Two: When he was trying to draw the painting in the cave, he only hugged you because you’re the artist of your first grade class.
Three: When you bought ice cream, you only hugged him so he’d eat it because you didn’t like its saltiness.
Four: When you first entered sixth grade together, you only hugged him so he wouldn’t feel lonely.
Five: When you confessed to that boy and he broke your heart, he only hugged you so you’d forget about Roxas.
Six: When you went shopping with him, you only hugged him because his ex-girlfriend was trying to make him jealous.
Seven: When you first tutored him, you only hugged him because he finished one of the assignments… and you thought his blue eyes were beautiful.
Eight: When he came out to the park at midnight to meet you, you only hugged him because he said he liked you… and you liked him back.
Nine: When you guys spent your first Christmas together, he only hugged you because there was mistletoe above you guys and that means you guys would have you kiss as well.
Ten: When you finally reached his side, he only hugged you because there was nothing he could do in front of a crowd—without embarrassing himself—to show you how excited he was to start his life with you.

Fair
“…stop it.” No matter how many times Sora said that, you wouldn’t stop. He was beginning to go deaf, listening to all your whiny crying. Even he was at the brink of tears, watching the way you were bawling your eyes out.
Blush
“What do you love about me the most?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Because I want to know, dummy.”
“Do you even have enough time to listen?”
You blinked, feeling a rush of warmth flood your cheeks at the words spoken by the brownie in front of you. Soras grinned, satisfied at yet another victory at knocking you off your guard so he can dive in and claim his prize.

Stalker
Sora. Ciel. Sky!
You absolutely loved his name. Sometimes you'd spend an entire day in the library looking up various translations of his name so you can relish in calling him such without drawing his attention.
His clothes. His shoes. His necklace!
You stole that on your sixteenth birthday, proclaiming that the distraught teenager had given it to you on request. He stayed after school for two hours looking for the necklace that he never found. You weren't about to give it back either, you only wanted a piece of your hero to keep with you at all times.
His eyes. His hair. His smile.
You draw those in your sketchbook all the time. Sometimes your friends think you're a little creepy, but they don't understand. Just because they can't draw doesn't mean they should hate. You believed that you captured your object of affection's eyes perfectly.
His love.
Operation Cupid. Now that you've gathered all the necessary information via reconnaissance, it's time to take action for what you want most.

Unfaithful
“Sora, what the fuck?!”
The brownie stared at you, quite confused at the expression that distorted your face.
“What the hell are you doing? I trusted you!” you shouted again.
“[your name], I…” he muttered. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think you were going to be home so soon.”
“My chocolate!”

Fear
His vision was red and his movements were fidgety and uncontrolled. Sora struggled to regain any remnants of control over his muscles, but he couldn't. He felt like he was crawling on the ground. All the other Heartless were around him but none made the move to hurt him.
Why? Where were you?
[your name]. It echoed in his mind but could not leave his lips. He had no lips. He had no voice.
The castle has never seemed larger to him until now. The walls were way beyond his reach and the stairs seemed only larger. And Sora... he felt trapped, as if he were lost in the darkness.

There
After yawning for the millionth time, Riku finally threw the pillow at you and grumbled a bitter “Get your ass to bed” before continuing his homework. Looks like it finally got to your older brother, all that yawning. It was contagious, after all. Saving the file, you gingerly packed up your folders and cleaned up before leaving the office.
Always there to save the day, your big brother.
When the door creaked open, Sora’s head shot up, groggily looking at you before smiling sleepily. You grinned, settling on his lap. Planting a kiss against your temple, he murmured, “Tough day at work?”
“Just Riku…” you mumbled. “You didn’t have to wait for me.”
“I love you, wifey.”
“I love you too, hubby.”

Always
You couldn't remember his name. Kairi couldn't either.
Somehow, you always thought about him.
You dreamed about him too. At least someone who looked like him—you didn't like the guy though. Something behind those big yellow eyes scared you, and you could never see what he looked like because of the darkness. Whenever you dreamed about that, you always thought of him, and somehow it made everything better.

Sweetie
“Sora, can you help me bring this in?” you called from the front door.
Your hero rushed out, clad in your blue apron, as he hurriedly took the box from your hands. You couldn't stop the smile from growing on your lips when you pecked his lips, murmuring: “Thanks, sweetie.”
The brown-haired teenager grinned. He couldn’t decide whether or not your kiss or you calling him sweetie made him happier.
